RSGB Contest Results 432MHz FT8 AC (2 hours) 2023

Welcome to the December FT8 432MHz contest.

There was a lot of QSB reported, stations did decide to test systems plus a little hardware issues. QSB was obvious from the errors, with a higher than normal 'Not in Log'. Entrants still had an enjoyable time.

31 (32 last month) stations in the 2hr contest and only 16 (11 last month) in the 4hr.

This was also the last session for the year. Numbers overall were stable (apart from the odd session affected by storms). From an adjudication point of view some the errors did seem confusing considering the nature of the digital event - Missing/Wrong locator and 'Invalid callsign'.

The results also seem to point at a bit of impatience, 'Not in Log' - can be QSB related but also = lets jump to next station and move on.

I am pleased to say very few complaints were reported by stations - long may it continue.

Plug for outlying stations - The FT8 events do have a bonus for locators worked as well as distance keep that in mind for next year - working the active GM/EI stations do give you a decent point score. (It also saves the GM regulars from dosing off!!).
