50MHz Trophy Contest

This contest is always made by the conditions served up by the Es gods. In 2025 there was some Es on the Saturday but it was short lived and by the evening there wasn't much to work. Those in 6H who picked Saturday were disappointed. GW1YBB/P was one and he who noted 'one to forget'. And from G7TWC 'Sat was rubbish'. Sunday started slowly but built quickly and by mid-morning your Adjudicator (MW8R) was in the middle of a gratifying pileup worthy of 20m in CQWW. A measure of the conditions can be gained from the winning scores. G8T in 2023 scored 31 million points, in 2024 60 million and in 2025 78 million.

There were few mentions of the weather. One was from G4NBS and that only in the context of the sun exciting his neighbours solar panels. But others thought it wet and windy.

There were 105 entries (122 entries in 2024 and 112 in 2023).

A number of stations were able to make contacts in the Caribbean. There were a few issues with incomplete locations for some qso's. If the DX station doesn't/won't sent a full 6 character grid then the UK station can't record it. To be fair to all I have allowed all these qso's whether a 4 or 6 character grid was obtained.

Minos users had an issue with M0DX which Minos rejected. This issue has now been fixed and where the qso was claimed it has been allowed and scored.

Blacksheep Contest and DX Group (G8T) (G4FAT, G8TIC, G0XDI, M0MUX,G7RAU, G4LOH and M0BTZ) win the Open section and retain the Telford Trophy. Tim G8X (G4FJK) retains the Six Metre Cup as the highest scoring single operator entry.
