RSGB Contest Results Autumn Series DATA 2022

Final Autumn Series Data Contest

The 7th November test saw 133 logs submitted by participants gathered for the final run of the Autumn Series DATA contests, where many lamented upon the poor propagation conditions for the event, but as usual there were others reporting good conditions.

A consistent point of failure with stations is the correct logging of mode changes. Failure to do so causes you lost QSO points so if you are wondering just why your score is so low compared to the number of stations worked, this is the reason. Your UBN report reveals the issue plainly. Some logging software does not automatically enter such mode switched thus it is incumbent on you to remember to do this manually at the time.

My thanks to Ian G0FCT who provided me with the SDR recording.

As usual G6XX was on the air this time operating the station of Nick Totterdell - G4FAL. Nick gave away 113 valuable 5 point QSOs, our thanks to him for putting the call sign on the air.

So to the individual tables where we find the following overall section winners:-

100W-A - G3TBK

10W-A - G4ENZ

100W-U -G3PDH

10W-U - G6EES

Congratulations and well done to the section winners.

With these results in the overall section winners for the three DATA series are:-

100W-A - G3TBK & GW5P(GW0EGH)

10W-A - G4ENZ

100W-U - M0NKR

10W-U - M0RYB(/P)

So the autumn series draws to a close with the final SSB and CW runs to come to reveal the overall result. I now get a month off from adjudication duties for the festive season and return for the big test of the year, AFS Data on the 15th January. I hope that you have all been able to fine tune your stations ready for AFS, and please DO ensure you use the correct template and correctly mark the mode changes in your logs. All that remains is for me to send you all greetings for the coming festive season and wish you a happy new year.

Until 2023, 73
