2nd 1.8 MHz contest 2022

The final event of this year's HF Championship attracted 83 entries and 6 checklogs, only two thirds of last year's total. The shortfall was due to a sharp reduction in logs from overseas stations.

DX was in very short supply with just 8 stations from North America appearing in the logs as well as a welcome entry from VO1HP. The near continent thus provided most of the activity with 62 French stations participating.

The list of winners below does not tell the whole story of what were some very close fought battles. The records will show that Andy, G4PIQ won The Victor Desmond Trophy (which is awarded to the highest scoring UK&CD station, regardless of section) for the first time. However, the second placed station Dave G3TBK (M7W) fell only 6 points short of Andy's total. Both competed in the Assisted category.

The Unassisted UK section was also fiercely contested with just 11 points separating Nick, G4FAL from Don, G3BJ (G5W).

The overseas unassisted section was another that provided stiff competition with 5 points dividing the top two in the table.
