2nd 1.8 MHz contest 2023

The final event of this year's HF Championship attracted just 65 entries and 5 checklogs.  This was the lowest total in the last 20 years.

DX was in very short supply with just 2 stations of note (4W8X and HL5IVL) available to the 'chosen few'.  Unusually, not a single station from North America appeared in the logs.

The reduced level of activity was commented on by many and several participants suggested that the four-hour duration was too long.

Having said this, the battle for the Victor Desmond Trophy, awarded to the highest scoring UK & CD station was as closely fought as ever. This year, the Unassisted section provided the winner and congratulations thus go to Graham, G4FNL, who beat last year's runner up Dave, M7W (winner of the Assisted section) by just 5 points.

The next 1.8 MHz contest is on Saturday 10 February 2023 commencing at 1900 UTC.
