2nd 80m CC Datamodes Contest 3rd March 2025

The second 80m Datamodes CC event attracted 164 entries. Whilst conditions were generally favourable for the first hour, several reported propagation changes after 2100. Many commented how nice it was for the band to have a lot of European signals joining in the fun resulting in a total of 11,104 reported contacts. That is an average of just over 123 contacts per minute being made.

Once again stations are overdriving the audio stages, or forgetting to turn off the compressor. This only loses QSOs not gains them, and makes it difficult for others. Please do clean up your act and output, all will benefit.

So to the results, Clubs first where we see Norfolk ARC in the Local section, as last year, once again setting the bar with a 5 digit score so to the real fight for 2nd place between Bristol CG and Echelford ARS who have nudged ahead of Sheffield & DWS who are pushed down to 4th place. In the General section Three As too are galloping away with De Montfort University ARC holding second place with the Radio Officers Association quite a way off in third spot.

In the individual results wins were recorded for:-

M4N (G4IZZ) in the 100W-A Section

G4ABX in the 10W-A Section

M2A (G3ORY) in the 100W-U Section

G4PIQ in the 10W-U section.
