80M CLUB SPRINT (CW)
The final CW session of the 2016 season of 80m Club Sprints attracted the lowest number of entrants of the series - 32 (25 Low Power and 7 QRP). This is 28% down on the best session on 12th October. This reduced entry is almost certainly due to the fact that, with one possible exception, all entrants who commented on conditions found them awful. Comments such as 'grim', 'dreadful', 'worst conditions of the year' were typical, although a couple noted that it was the UK signals that were particularly poor compared with EU signals that were generally S9.
The poor conditions are reflected by the number of QSOs made - the leading station in the Low Power section was G4RCG with 25 QSOs (down by 40% on the previous session), and that in the QRP section was G4ABX with 11 QSOs (down by 70%).
