RSGB Contest Results 80m Sprint SSB 2016

The November contest draws the 80m Club Sprint (SSB) series to a close. The QRP section saw only 5 entrants but 41 entered the LOW section. G3TBK and G4ARI with 43 QSOs apiece took the honours in LOW whilst G3ZGC took QRP with 31 QSOs.

Looking at the overall results combining SSB & CW the De Montfort University ARS romped away with a resounding victory for the series some 250% ahead of second place Newbury & District ARS in the GENERAL section. In the LOCAL section Torbay ARS romped home ahead of Scunthorpe Steel ARC by a similar margin. Congratulations to Torbay ARS who lift the Newbury Trophy.

Despite the popularity of short duration weekday contests, the 80m Club Sprints have not been as well supported as the 80m CC series, and so for 2017 it will be renamed the Autumn contest series with a new format. The format is currently in consultation until 31 January 2017. You may emailhfcc.chair@rsgbcc.org with your thoughts on the format.
