RSGB 80/40m CW AFS Contest 2021 ;

This  contest again started on  Saturday at 1pm  and again 40m band conditions favoured much longer distances and signals inter-G were weak . One or two  comments were received about  the propagation favouring northern UK stations on 40m. Many stations worked the other EU PMC contest stations and correctly recorded  their exchange or logged 0 as per the rules and  the logger used.All were accepted  as valid entries  as per  last years. Signals from Scotland and Europe were very strong on 40m. Most southern UK stations therefore again migrated quickly to 80m , with a few returning to 40m later. Some good DX  was  worked including W , VK2, JA,BD , and  VE7  Participation has increased with 253 logs entered, including 34 non UK logs. The leading stations reported being busy right to the end of the contest, making it most enjoyable. This year 26 General Club and 61 Local Clubs entered, again an increase  on 2020.

The scores have been divided into three power categories, with certificates for the highest numeric teams in each category.The highest scoring local club was again Aberdeen ARS' A, and the highest General Club entry was again Three A's  A, who also win the Edgware Trophy for the highest club score. The first placed individual score went jointly to a tie between  G4PIQ and GM5X (GM4YXI),  who share  the Marconi Trophy. In the other power sections, the leading 100W station was M1X ( G0CKP), just ahead of GM0WED, and leading 10W station was  G3SWC just ahead of M5D (G4WQI). The leading non UK station was EI6KX, with a big 40m beam, ahead of DL4CF.

Certificates have again been awarded to the leading club stations, both General and Local, and to the leading 3 station, 2 station and a single station teams.
