3.5MHz Autumn Series - November CW results

In contrast to the final CW session last year, propagation in the November event was generally much more consistent giving all stations, including those from outside the UK&CD, an even chance of making a good score. Some good DX was found from North America and Asiatic Russia and there were a total of 27 different countries in the logs with stations from 14 of those submitting an entry.

Thanks to Graham G4FNL for running the bonus station G6XX, he made 163 QSOs from his QTH in Brighton.

The winners and runners up in the CW sections are as follows:

As this is the final event in the Series, the club awards can be made. In the General club category, De Montfort University ARS take the top spot and in second place is a new group for 2021, Leicestershire Foxes CG. The RSGB Contest Club move up to third place from fifth last year.

The Newbury Trophy is awarded to the leading club in the Local category, competing as a local club in the Autumn Series for the first time is Norfolk ARC who are awarded the Trophy for 2021. Last year's winner Bristol CG are in second place with Sheffield & DWS moving from sixth place in 2020 to claim third.

The highest scoring individual entrant for the fifth successive year is Dave G3TBK, representing Grimsby ARS, Dave scored 8381 points out of a possible 9000. In second place is Tim G4ARI and Ian G3RVM takes third place. The highest placed Intermediate station is Tim 2E0TJX and the highest placed Foundation is Ben M7TXR. With increasing participation from overseas, also a mention for Yuri DF1MM who supported all nine sessions and was placed 22nd overall. Regular QRP operator Frans PC2F entered seven sessions with 10W achieving 64th place overall and the second highest non-UK&CD. There were a total of 63 entrants from overseas, more than double the number of last year. Thanks to all the non-UK&CD entrants for their continued support.

The total number of entrants for the Autumn Series in 2021 was slightly lower than last year but the overall trend is still upwards. There was a change in the rules for this year with the points multiplier for Foundation and Intermediate stations only applying to club scores. However, a total of 13 Foundation and 19 Intermediate stations appear in the results and contributing significant points to their respective clubs.

The first CW session in the 2022 Club Championship is on Thursday 24th February starting at 2000 UTC.
