RSGB Contest Results Autumn Series DATA 2021
v4.158 by G4CLA

3rd Autumn Series Data Contest

The 3rd of the three series Autumn data event took place on the 1st November and attracted 147 entries. Although one or two entrants did not enjoy the best of the propagation, most did. It is notable that the 10w Assisted section only attracted 3 entries this month but overall the number of entries was 137. This short series is an ideal opportunity to hone the data modes setup for the big one, the AFS in January. It also a great opportunity to experiment with SO2R.

The contest series has a unique `Le Mans' style start in which no entrant may transmit in the 2 minutes leading to the beginning of the contest. Two entrants this month decided to 'warm their engines' and thus attracted the penalty. I would also like to point out that holders of SCC are not permitted to transmit that callsign outside of the period of the contest. Doing so jeopardises the continued use of that call.

So to the results. G4ENZ took first place in the 100W Assisted section again this month whilst in the 10W Assisted section G4 IDF came first. Turning to the Unassisted sections in the 100W Unassisted MW2I(GW5NF) came first and G4CZB took top honours in the 10W Unassisted section.

This being the last of the data modes contest in the series, the individual scores are in. G3RVM (100W Assisted), G3P(G3WPH) (10W Assisted), G0ORY (100W-Unassisted), and G3SWC (10W Unassisted) all finished in first place in their respective tables. Turning to the overall series club tables The General Club section sees the DeMontfort University ARS with an unassailable lead, but in the Local Club section, Norfolk ARC put the pedal to the metal to open the gap on their nearest rivals, Bristol CG.

So that concludes the adjudication of the contest and all of the data contests for 2021. My thanks to Nigel Williams G0RPM who operated G6XX giving away those much prized and coveted 5 point QSOs, 95 in total. Also I'd like to thank G7RTI for the checklog.

I will pick up the adjudicators baton once again for AFS Data modes in January so may I take this opportunity of thanking all of you for taking part and enjoying this aspect of the hobby, and also to send you compliments of the forthcoming season.

Simone Wilson - M0BOX

80m DATA modes adjudicator.
