DX Contest 2022

This year's event attracted a record number of logs (315) probably due, in part at least, to the cancellation of the usually concurrent Thracian Rose Contest, with many more overseas stations submitting entries. The reduction in the maximum length of the event from 18 to 12 hours may also have had a positive effect.  In total, 40 DXCCs from 4 continents appeared in the overseas tables.  In contrast to this, entries from the UK & CD only increased by 5 (from 53 to 58) and the apparent paucity of home stations on the air attracted comment in the soapboxes.

In the Affiliated Society (club) competition, last year's victors Grimsby ARS were unable to keep pace with theRSGB Contest Club which came out top of the 31 entries.

This year's silverware winners (awarded to the highest scoring UK&CD entrants in each mode) are

Nick, M5DX (G4FAL) who wins the T.E. Wilson G6VQ Trophy (CW only).

Graham, G4FNL who wins the Powditch Trophy (Mixed mode).

Andrew G1A, (M0NKR) who wins the Whitworth Trophy (SSB only)

These were by no means the only noteworthy performances, however, and congratulations go to all those who won certificates.

Thanks also go to those stations who submitted checklogs.

Please note that certificates can be auto-generated by all entrants by use of the drop-down filters, e.g. CW/ASSISTED/12-HOURS

Graham Coomber, G0NBI
