International Sprint SSB -- November
The final International Sprint of the year took place during a period when conditions on the bands were generally poor, with 20m very unproductive. Some parts of the UK also found 40m to be hard-going, so 80m was where most QSOs took place. The Ukrainian DX Contest, running at the same time, was generally not helpful, although some entrants were able to take advantage of contacts with these and other stations - asking for (and getting) QSOs as well as the correct exchange.
In the low-power section, the winner was Paul, M0XDX, a couple of QSOs ahead of GW9J (GW0GEI). Steve, M9A (G3ZVW), won the high-power section by quite a margin, taking advantage of contacts with casual band users and those in other contests.
The Sprint contests have been poorly supported, and this series will not continue next year. Few entrants made more than single-figure levels of contacts, and even the winner of the high-power section made barely 50 QSOs. Thanks to those who persevered for their efforts, and congratulations to certificate winners.

Ed, G3SQX
