RSGB Contest Results RoLo CW 2020
v4.158 by G4CLA

After several years of a steady but modest increase in entrants, 2020 saw a jump in numbers by almost 50%.  Also encouraging was the rise in support from outside the UK&CD with entrants from six different countries and a further seven in the logs.  Unfortunately some of the non-entrants were not fully familiar with the rules and sent their own locator to every contact so that a few locators were cropping up more frequently than others in the last half hour although with a number of variations!

With the almost universal use of computer logging setting up your macros correctly is always important and never more so in this event.  It was clear during adjudication and from entrants' comments that sometimes when a repeat was requested a different locator was sent the second time.  Where this was detected the receiving station has not been penalised.  Please ensure that any macros set are always sending the correct exchange for this contest.

In first place with 820 points is Graham G4FNL followed by Jonathan G0DVJ (M4J) on 800 points and Dave G3TBK in third place with 790 points.  There were twelve non-UK entrants, the leader in overall 13th place with a creditable 680 points is Jan PG7V, the second highest non-UK score and 36th overall with 570 points is Goran SM6EWB (SF6W).

There were only ten logs with no errors, top of the bundle is Don G3BJ (G5W) so he is awarded the G3XTJ Memorial Trophy for the highest placed most accurate log.  The nine other error free logs were from DJ9SN, G3RLE, G3YLA, G4HIV, GM4ZUK, GW0ETF, PG7V, SD1A and SF6W.

Allan GM4ZUK took first place in the RoLo SSB contest 2020 and scoring a further 750 points in this event secures the G5MY Trophy for the highest aggregate total across the two events.
