Many thanks for check logs received from G3XTZ
Entries and participants this year were well down on 2021 making for a fairly quiet last 30 minutes although some stations did make a significant number of QSOs late on. Band conditions did not appear to favour Europe and this was reflected in the unusually very low number of non-UK&CD callsigns in the logs. There were only five entrants and four other stations active from overseas. A total of 48 UK&CD stations appear in the logs, including a recent Foundation Licensee who made a creditable 27 QSOs but did not submit a log.
It still baffles me when the received locator is completely different to the one logged as being sent and it often takes some time to unravel whether the error is the fault of the sending station or the receiving station. This problem is very often found to be the result of incorrectly setup logging software resulting in the sending station losing the points. Setting up all the exchanges correctly for both running and S&P is essential.
As is usual in this event, logging accuracy is a major factor in the final positions. In first place is Dave G3TBK followed by Adam G0ORY, Peter M0RYB and Jonathan G0DVJ (M4J) in joint second. Adam and Peter had no errors in their logs so are jointly awarded the G3XTJ Memorial Trophy for the highest placed most accurate logs. There were just six other entrants with error-free logs: G3RWF, G3SWC, G3TKF, G4CZB, G4IRN and G4PVM.
Of the five non-UK&CD entrants, the highest placed is Goran SM6EWB (SF6W) in overall 26th place followed by Ben SM6OEF (SM6S) as the second highest non-UK&CD. Thanks to all the non-UK&CD stations for taking part and providing a variety of locators to the mix.
The G5MY Trophy is awarded for the highest aggregate score over the two RoLo Contests in 2022. With a score of 550 points from the RoLo SSB in April this year, Dave G3TBK takes the G5MY Trophy for 2022.
