Most entrants found activity this year rather low although logs submitted were the third highest since the contest changed to rotating locators in 2016. There were mixed views on the last 30 minutes, slow for some but an opportunity for the weaker stations to up their score and a test for receiving accuracy. There were a further 80 different callsigns appearing in the logs, 22 non-UK, some UK&CD stations made significant numbers of contacts but did not submit a log. As usual there were a few non-competing stations that did not grasp the rotating locator concept but this did not cause any problems.
In first place and a repeat of last year's success is Graham G4FNL, followed by Andy G4PIQ in second place and Andrew M0NKR in third. Andy G4PIQ had no errors in his log so is awarded the Verulam Silver Jubilee Trophy for the highest placed most accurate log. There were 13 other error-free logs from 2E0BKU, G0BKU/P, G0JDL, G3SWC, G3ZBU, G4ARI, G4CTY, G4PVM, G4TSH, G6DXY, M0XTY, M2D and SA6CCZ. There was only one non-UK entry from Nick SA6CCZ but he receives a certificate as the leading non-UK station.
