2.3GHz Trophy Contest

This contest, together with the sister 23cm Trophy Contest, are the final two events in the VHF Championship. The frequencies involved mean that they are usually quiet events and 2024 was no exception.

As with the 23cm Trophy Contest from 2023 VHFCC added 500point bonus for each large grid square worked.   As with the 23cm Trophy contest this made little observable difference with the winners of both sections from JO01/2 and having scores over double that of the runners up.

There were 14 entries (18 in 2023 and 14 in 2022).

In Open ODX was provided by DL3LAR in a QSO with M1CRO/P at 634km and in Single Operator Fixed it was DL3LAR's QSO with G3XDY at 637km (last years ODX was 740km and 836km respectively).  As this suggests conditions were not good.  M3P comments 'A struggle today with low activity' and G8EVJ 'total rubbish very very low activity.'

This event is partly co-ordinated with a IARU Region 1 contest and the R1 logs were obtained and were used to assist with adjudication.
