Overall results of the 2023 144MHz FM Activity Contest (FMAC)

The seventh year of the 144MHz FM Activity Contest has seen 104 entries (106 in 2022, 101 in 2021, 141 in 2020, 73 in 2019, 72 in 2018) for the 50W section and 60 entries (80 in 2022, 83 in 2021, 89 in 2020, 58 in 2019, 61 in 2018) for the 10W section. The number of entrants per contest has varied over the year from a maximum of 82 in February to a minimum of 48 in October and November with an overall average of just over 60 (70 in 2022, 64 in 2021, 65 in 2020, 39 in 2019, 35 in 2018).  The number of stations active in this contest varied from 140 (February and April) to 95 (January and November) with an average of just under 115 (128 in 2022, 138 in 2021, 140 in 2020, 101 in 2019, 122 in 2018).

In the fifth year of the Local Club Category section, members of 22 Affiliated Societies submitted their scores for this table (18 in 2022, 22 in 2021, 28 in 2020, 18 in 2019).

Congratulations to the entrants and Affiliated Societies listed below who all receive certificates for their efforts.

For 2024, the sections in the FM Activity Contests are being changed to be licence class based. So there will be a section for Foundation licensees (10W power limit), a section for Intermediate licensees (50W power limit) and an Open section for everyone else (50W power limit). The recommendation to use vertical polarisation has also been removed. Please read the 2024 rules when they become available on the RSGBCC website.

The first 144MHz FMAC session for 2024 starts at 1900 local time on Tuesday January 2nd.
