RSGB Contest Results 2nd 144MHz Backpackers 2023

2nd Backpackers Contest

26 stations submitted entries together with 12 checklogs, one fewer than last month. Hot and sunny weather was generally the order of the day although thunderstorms caused Wayne, MW0LKX/P in North Wales to (wisely!) finish early.  Unlike the previous event propagation was only fair with just 5 stations outside of the UK appearing in the logs.  PA0WMX gave 7 stations their ODX.

In the 5B section, the seemingly invincible Steve GW1YBB/P once again triumphed with a score that was more than double his nearest rival Simon GW8OVZ/P. Andrew G4XZL/P took third place and the Leading Foundation station was Simeon, M7SLL/P.

It was all change in the 25H Section with winner Steve G0EAK/P narrowly beating G4RLF/P (operated by G4RLG and G8OFA) who put in their first appearance in this contest.   Wayne's (MW0LKX/P) weather problem undoubtedly contributed to his third place.
