2nd Backpackers Contest 2024

Sunday 9th June saw mixed weather across the country, although several entrants reported a cold and brisk wind.  Activity was slightly higher than last month with 192 stations appearing in the logs although only 20 submitted entries. There were 15 checklogs received and 12 non-UK&CD stations participated.  It was good see an ODX greater than 1000 kms, G0EAK/P and F5ICN achieving a distance of 1,129 kms.

Steve GW1YBB/P and Wayne, MW0LKX/P maintain their grip on the 5B and 25H sections respectively and, even at this relatively early stage it seems as if, barring a disaster, Steve will be invincible.

Congratulations to all the certificate winners, and I hope to see and hear you all for the 3rd outing on Sunday July 7th commencing at 1100 UTC.
