RSGB Contest Results 432MHz UKAC 2023

413 stations entered one or more logs for this year's 432MHz UK Activity Contest, representing 37 Local and 43 General Clubs. If you find your club listed in General Club table but all your members are located or operate within 80Km of your meeting place then you can move to compete in the Local Club Section next year by emailing afs.query@rsgbcc.org.

Conditions during the year varied from excellent to poor. The best months were February and June, when many stations were able to work into Scandinavia and some ODX paths of over 1,000Km were recorded, the best of which was between G4CLA and SK0EN at 1,483Km. Conditions were good to the South of France and Spain in the October event, the best DX this time was between GD8EXI and F6AJW at 1,208Km. The award for the station who appeared most often in the ODX column (194 times) goes to Gordon, GI6ATZ.

Almost all entries for these events are entered on behalf of an RSGB affiliated society, and in many ways it the club aspect of these contests that drive activity. Help, assistance and encouragement within each team push members to improve their scores which in turn improves the club's results. With all member's scores adding to the team score everyone can make a contrition, which encourages newbies and old hands alike. This year's Local Club winners are the Parallel Lines CG, having leapfrogged up from third place in 2022, pushing five times winners Hereford ARS down to second place, with Northampton RC repeating their third-place listing from last year.

In the General Club Section, Northern Fells CG are in first place for the second time in a row. 807 ARO are once again in the runners-up spot just ahead of Harwell ARS in third. A thank-you to all the AFS teams who took part and helped increase activity for the benefit of all entrants.

In the individual sections, Pete G4CLA is in first place in the Open section. Second place is shared this year by Keith G4ODA, returning after a sabbatical in 2022, and Richard GD8EXI who moved up from third place in the last event of the year. Jacky, F1MKG is in an excellent tenth place overall and is the highest placed non-UK entry.

John G3XDY takes top spot in the Restricted Section with five session wins, just ahead of Ian GM3SEK with three wins this year. Darrell 2E0VCC is the highest placed Intermediate Licence holder with an excellent score just outside the top ten. The highest placed non-UK station is Philippe F1CBC.

In the Low Power Section Steve, G1YBB is in first place managing eight session wins, with Chris G0WUS again in second spot winning the June event. Certificates also go to Gary 2E0IGD, who has swapped his leading Foundation certificate from 2022 for a leading Intermediate certificate and to Sue M6XAK who is the leading Foundation Licensee this year,
