RSGB Contest Results 5th 144MHz Backpackers 2024

5th Backpackers Contest

11 entries and 2 checklogs were received for the final outing of 2024. Variable weather across the country was widely commented on perhaps balanced out by some good near-continent DX with 6 stations from France, 5 from Belgium, 5 from the Netherlands and 3 from Germany appearing in the logs.  In total, 119 non-entrants were worked.

The ODX was between Andrew, G4XZL/P and DR9A at a distance of 900kms.  This helped him secure his first win of the season in the Backpackers section.  In the Hilltoppers event, another first-time winner Neill, G4HLX/P took the top slot.

Please note that the provisional contest calendar for next year shows the first outing of the Backpackers and Hilltoppers Contest starting on Sunday 18 May at 1100.   Hope to hear you all then.
