AFS SUPER LEAGUE 2019/20

The rules for the 2019/20 AFS Super League differed from those of the previous year in two respects: firstly the introduction of an eighth contributing contest - 70MHz AFS - and secondly inclusion of results for General Clubs in their own section . There were 69 Local Club and 39 General Club entries, 22% up on last year's 89 entries in a combined listing.

The leading entrant in the Local Club Category, winning the Hadley Wood Contest Group Trophy and a certificate was, for the fourth consecutive year, Camb-Hams with 7982 points. Certificates are also awarded to the second (Grimsby ARS, who also took second place in the 2018/19 combined listing) and third (Tall Trees CG, fourth in the 2018/19 combined listing) placed entrants.

In the General Club Category the leading entrant and certificate winner was Drowned Rats RG (24th placed in the 2018/19 combined listing) with 6549 points. Other certificate winners are Addiscombe ARC in second place (31st placed in the 2018/19 combined listing) and RSGB Contest Club in third place (a non-entrant last year).

Eight entrants (six in the Local Club Category and two in the General Club Category) were able to field stations in each of the eight contributing events of whom five (four in the Local Club Category and one in the General Club Category) are awarded Certificates of Achievement.

Thanks to all clubs and stations who participated, and congratulations to those gaining awards. We now have seven months to improve our stations for the 2020/21 Super League - hope to see you then!
