RSGB Contest Results AFS Superleague 24/25
v4.158 by G4CLA

Another year, another AFS Super League.... The 2024/25 AFS Super League followed the same structure as that of the last few years, consisting of eight qualifying events providing a good spread of frequencies and modes, covering bands from 160m to 70cm using CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK63, with separate result listings produced for the General Club and Local Club categories.

Adding up across the eight qualifying sessions, the total number of individual logs received was 997 (including 70 non-UK&CD entrants with no Club affiliation). The 927  UK&CD entrants consisted of 383 teams of up to four members representing 94 Affiliated Societies. The latter figure was eleven (10%) down on 2023/24, with the percentage drop being slightly higher in the Local Club category. 22 Clubs (23% of the total) were able to field more than one team, with five Clubs able to submit three teams and three Clubs able to submit four, two of which (Spalding and Norfolk) submitted logs from 15 stations.

In the Local Club category, the leading entrant and winner of the Hadley Wood Contest Group Trophy was again Camb-Hams, who have been category winners in each of the six years since separate Local and General Club categories were introduced. They again won five of the eight sessions, earning 7796 points (0.9% down on last year's score). Second place was taken by Spalding ARS, up from twelth last year and third place by Chesham & DARS for the third consecutive year.

In the General Club category the leading entrant for the fifth consecutive year was Addiscombe ARC with 6780 points (eight points down on last year. In second place is Harwell ARS (for the fourth consecutive year) and in third place De Montfort University ARS up three places from last year.

Certificates are listed below. In addition to the three position certificates in each section, Certificates of Achievement are awarded to six clubs (four in the Local Club category and two in the General Club category) which were able to field stations in each of the eight qualifying AFS contests and in addition gained 250 or more Super League Points (SLPs) in each. A further two clubs entered all eight sessions but were not able to gain the necessary SLPs.

Congratulations to those gaining awards, and thanks to all participating Affiliated Societies and individual entrants - including those who didn't make it into their clubs' 'top teams': their entries are important too!

That's it for the 2024/5 season - hope to work you in 2025/26.....
