The Christmas Contests are the last ones of the year. From 2021 the format was been changed - from 4 bands on all 4 days to one day per band; and to points per kilometre (PPK) from points per qso (PPQ). As for the 2021 event social media discussion indicated continuing dissent from some previous entrants who preferred the challenge of being qrv on 4 bands in each session. And support from others who's stations reflect AC type activity - and so who prefer to; or can only - put up one aerial at a time.
One suggestion received support in social media discussion - for many of us Boxing Day is a family day when being absent to go on the radio is either impossible or very unpopular. This would be easily fixed by moving the contests one day ahead - so 50MHz was on 27 December and so on. Comments to VHFCC please.
So, a year on, what did the change achieve ?
In 2020 there were 101 unique entrants, in 2021 126 and in 2022 97.

Previous events have been favoured with tropo or Es - but this year the conditions were generally reported to be poor. And for those contemplating portable activity the weather was damp, cold and windy for most.
Two results are worthy of note. David M7DQO was Table Leader in the 50MHz Low Power section, and Dave M7ALE was Table Leader in the 144MHZ Low Power Section. It is good to see Foundation licensees heading contest tables.
And a comment I couldn't resist repeating 'Stations few and far between. 70cm Could challenge the Antarctic as World's largest desert' (G4HZG)
Congratulations to all certificate winners.
