    1st 1.8 MHz Contest 2004.

65 logs and 2 check logs were received for the first Top Band contest of 2004, almost all of them by e-mail. The majority were logged in SD. Use SD type 10 for this contest and use the DXCC.CTY file not RSGB.CTY Please check that your Cabrillo log contains the full report from both stations in one line. i.e. Callsign, RST, Serial and Area Code, sent & received. Overseas stations do not send Area codes.
There were three less UK entrants and six more Overseas than last year. Two overseas check logs were received and G3IZD was using a wrong UK code and decided that his could be a check log because of it. The points shown in the table against your callsign is the corrected total; use the formula (QSOs x 3) + (Bonus x 5) - Pts. to find how many points you lost in the adjudication.
Congratulations to the winner Ed Taylor, G3SQX operating from Guernsey and to runner-up Fraser Robertson. Third equal were Ian Watt. GM4ZRR at the Stirling ARC station GM6NX and Richard Jolliffe, G3ZGC/P. The first three Overseas stations were from the Baltic Countries led by Laimonis Stephans, YL2PQ.

    Sid Will, GM4SID.
