    * = Error-free log

    Second Ropoco Contest 2010

There were 75 different callsigns appearing in the logs received for this contest and Graham Bubloz G4FNL made contact with 59 of them to submit a perfect log scoring 590 points.  Graham therefore receives the G3XTJ Memorial Trophy for the highest scoring error-free log in addition to the certificate for the leading station in this year’s RoPoCo 2.

Errors in received post codes were the main cause of lost points and mis-reading of ‘5’ as ‘H’ and ‘H’ as ‘5’ was a common mistake in this event.  Errors in callsign logged and RST received, and contacts not in log, made up the remainder.   The average number of errors per log was 1.9.

G4FNL’s score of 570 points from RoPoCo 1 gives him the highest aggregate score over the two events for 2010 and thus is awarded the G5MY Trophy.  Next year RoPoCo 1 will be SSB and RoPoCo 2 CW so this Trophy will require two different skill sets for this award.

Thanks to all those that sent in entries even though their operating times were restricted for various reasons and to EI5DI and G3VQO for their checklogs.

    John Cockrill G4CZB

    G0GDU
Was just getting into this CW contest pity it's going to disappear next year – won't be trying it on SSB interesting how some of the postcodes came round again but in a corrupted form

    G0IBN
    Only last 30 mins

    G0ORH
K3 100w Dipole. A lot of the regulars were missing this session so scrabbling about for contacts still enjoyable watching the various postcodes coming back ajusted! great fun. Ken.

    G0TZZ
Shame people can't get up on a Sunday morning this contest is more fun and challenging than the run of the mill CC's I enjoyed it even with only a few Q's

    G3BJ
Very quiet - good UK propagation but low activity Two stations seemed incapable of sending the same postcode twice! In the end I guessed! How can we get more activity in ROPOCO ?

    G3GLL
    SD worked fine as usual

    G3IGU
IC706 MKII 30 Watts Ant Long Wire

    G3JJZ
Disappointing condx. No GMs heard. Wkd everything I could hear bar one. 'Live logging' on paper then computerised post-contest.

    G3KAF
    An enjoyable contest as always.

    G3KNU
    CW RoPoCo RIP

    G3LHJ
Heavy going but enjoyable as ever

    G3LIK
Lot of familiar calls missing due to holidays Lot of QSB towards the end of the contest Pity the contest has been reduced to 90 minutes Lots of QSB towards the end of the contest Greast to have SD for logging

    G3OLB
Just came on for the last ten minutes!

    G3RFH
I mis-read the start/finish times and didn't start till 0730 and when 0830 came I wondered why the band went dead!! So I only have an hours' worth!

    G3TBK
Glad I'm not a Postman dealing with these corrupted adresses! Seemed to be even less activity than last year.

    G3TXF
Grrrrh ... this is my fourth attempt at up-loading the RoPoCo-2 log. This time all spaces have been removed from the incoming and outgoing Postcodes (but there ARE spaces in Postcodes!)

    G3VIP
RIG IC7000 50W - 40M LW - Homebrew logger Plenty of stations think hour & half good.

    G3VMW
First time in RoPoCo that my own post code has been returned and amazingly it was still intact. How do people manage to mangle post codes so much? It is embarrassing sometimes to re-send the broken code you have just received.

    G3VYI
Condx not good from here No GM heard later QSB noise ! poor skip but good fun again. Let SD do some work as have broken shoulder!

    G3WVG
Overslept, so just made the last 35 minutes!

    G3WYW
love this contest. accuracy more important than rate and reflected by sensible speeds and repeats if not 100% sure of it first time.

    G3YMC
First go at RoPoCo for a few years and I seem to be out of practice... So pretty sure there are some of my own copying errors in there as well as those duff codes sent to me... Great fun but I wouldn't want to send postcodes all the time! 73 Dave

    G3ZGC
Deep QSB at the Home QTH today. Hence much noisier here. Rig IC7700 200w to 132 ft wire up about 40 ft and wrapped into a 55 ft garden. An enjoyable contest through conditions were way down for the last 45 minutes.

    G3ZRJ
Sorry for QRS due to back probs can't use electronic key glad to give out some points

    G4AFS
Very slow going and some unusual Post Codes received even confirmed following query.

    G4ARI
Brilliant contest as always I love these morning events I have finished the contest before the XYL has got up

    G4BLI
    Another really enjoyable CW event!

    G4BUO
Hard going. My last caller had to abandon the QSO because of PLT QRM. This is a real danger to our hobby

    G4DJX
Enjoyed it as always but slow!

    G4EBK
Conditions variable this time GM very weak usually good signals here. South west stations also weaker than usual. 47 Q'S 23 different callsigns to ropoco1.

    G4FNL
Not too many people active for this one. It was slow going. Thanks to all for the QSOs

    G4LMW
Dire conditions not helped by a break in my 80m dipole so had to use the topband dp which gave me RF all over the shack so had to run at 50w!!

    G4RCG
Just a steady pace all the way through some wierd post codes right from the start. Pity there are not many new faces on this test

    G4RLS
I didn't think I'd be able to hear anyone through the awful PLT racket which has appeared yet again to taunt me. My thanks to you all for your patience. There would have been some really fine signals if their true value had not been masked by the local noise! (PLT bah!!)

    G4WGE/P
Managed to trash the SD Macros just before the start. Then the PSU shutdown during the first attempt at a QSO with G3BJ and then several times during the contest. Suprised I worked anyone really!

    G4XPE
Low activity made it hard going at times Had to suspend activity to deal with a persistent wasp in the shack at one point!

    G6CSY
Jogging along nicely S&P'ing with the QRP until 07:30 when the noise on the band went up to a steady S9. Only station I could not work was G4WGE/P. Did not get my own postcode back but managed to get KA33HQ three times!

    GW0ETF
Really poor conditions here. Incessant CQing while working stns on the second vfo/sub receiver. K3/Acom 1000 and doublet

    M0AAA
Great fun but very slow looking forward to the SSB Leg next year.

    M0NQN
Quiet band: low level of activity: just as well my bencher was not doing as it was told!

    M0RYB
Shame to lose it to SSB! Give SSB its own RoPoCo
