    Results - 80m Club Sprint 2010

Individual Sessions - 22nd September CW

    ADJUDICATOR'S NOTE:
As Steve G3UFY said last month, it is NOT a good idea to come on and ONLY work members of your own club. These QSOs will be (and have been) disallowed.

The Contest Committee makes wideband recordings using a Software Defined Radio of some contests for later use if necessary. Checks on QSOs may be made for specific reasons, and also at random. Following anomalies identified during the checking process, adjudicators found that a number of contacts claimed by one entrant were not audible in the recording, and concluded that the QSOs had not actually taken place. "Log padding" is contrary to the rules and spirit of the contest, and so the Contest Committee determined that this entry be disqualified.

First RSGB CW Sprint. Too much time spent CQing for 1 radio/Rx system.
Activity far too low. East European contest in previous hour where everyone running at 40+ WPM much more interesting! Couldn't believe 2 x Dupes!
Discovered 2 hours after contest that I had done the whole event on the low dipole @ 20ft rather than he high one at 65ft. Ugh...

    G4RCG
This was a real good session with lots of people on
for a change The exchanges were much better this
time people must be getting used to what needs sending
There were a few ropy signals though a very enjoyable
session SD worked a dream as normal Tnx Paul EI5DI

    G6CSY
S9+12db of background noise made things difficult.......but enjoyable!
It comes as a shock being called straight after a QSO when used to only S&P in contests.

    GM3YEH
Conditions seemed quite good tonight in SW Scotland. Trying QRP for this series of sprints and surprised with the results. No trouble working stations S&P. Managed to get some replies to CQs this time...unlike last month. Wonder if there is an
y way to publicise the sprints outside the UK to try and get some more stations on?

    GM3ZBE
Slow going - not a lot of activity - propagation good.

    GW0ETF
Dare I say but seemed a bit more activity..!

HORRIFIC QRM DUE TO SMPSU NEARBY
    Using SD logger

Good fun. SD worked well for logging.

    G0GDU
Some stations do not fully understand rules about QSying others just jumped on my freq and started calling CQ

    G0IBN
    I enjoy this contest

    G3GLL
A sprint this is not !

    G3HRH
    Bit noisy to start with
Quite a few EU stations giving points

    G3KKP
Enjoyable short contest - no lost sleep !
Sorry about frequencies logged - noticed too late
that the rig was not talking to the computer !

    G3LHJ
Enjoyable hour & half few more active this time

    G3LIK
Some very strong signals on the band.
Had to reduce power to 50w to stop interfering with
the PC. Some slow periods during the contest
Great to have SD for logging

    G3OLB
Managed to find time to do a bit of construction work in between QSOs! 10 watts from a K3 to a dipole at 60 feet.

    G3ORY
Apologies for some duff keying courtesy of my computer and Winkey. The first dot or dash of every transmission was elongated. Re-booting eventually fixed the problem.

    G3TXF
Good to see activity slowly increasing in the RSGB CW Sprints. Making the QSO exchanges in the correct order is all important. If you don't, it then becomes impossible for Search and Pouncers to "know what's going on" on a given frequency. Most participants are now making the exchanges in the correct sequence, but a few are not.

    G3WVG
Too long and therefore too slow.

    G3WYW
1st Sprint I've entered and enjoyed it. Keying problems so did all sending by hand.

    G3ZRJ
Seemed to be a good turn out tonight
rig went phut just after 2000z so gave up
good to give out some points as a check log
    sd worked perfectly

    G4DJX
