Very enjoyable contest with a lot of activity. Cu next year again!

    G0DVJ
Good activity levels.  Lots of longer skip esp in last 30 mins. Very enjoyable as usual.

    G0EFO
The last hour is always so dreary!

    G0FYX
Quite busy band. Skip changed last 30 minutes. SD worked well and nice to work EI5DI.

    G0GDU
    FT1000 wid W3DZZ @ 28ft agl
Conditions started off OK but deteriorated towards end - only one station heard in last 20 minutes

    G0GFQ
Good fun, but my apologies to those who replied to my CQs for my delay.  I had software issues with my On Screen Keyboard

    G0IBN
thank you SD. everyone faded away during the last half hour. usual mayhem but enjoyable

    G0LHZ
    Great Fun

    G0MLY
A fun afternoon - Sunday pm seems to be a good time for contesting!
Any chance of any more being scheduled for this time please?

    G0OKF
1st hours brilliant last hour difficult

    G0VJG
only had a short time time to operate due to kid qrm

    G2JL
SD is good;  some folks operating isn't;  mine eg Is "CFM" really quicker than "R" ?  Perhaps "QSL" is
    Best wishes to EI5DI

    G3BFP
The snow got into my garden atu had to go to 40watts

    G3EAO
I do not recommend using a rig without a CW filter!

    G3GLL
SD worked well as usual - conditions very good until the last hour when G stations became very difficult to get - otherwise a good contest.

    G3HEJ
AM USING SD (post logging) BUT HAD TO TOTALLY RE-LOAD COMPUTER
AS TOO MANY OLD 'SD CONTEST' RESULTS WERE CAUSING PROBLEMS

    G3HRH
Great fun with plenty of activity. Too far away to join the DMU Club team

    G3IAF
Antenna down in trees bearing 1" ice

    G3JIR
Good fun. Plenty of stations to work. Pity I did not work more of them !!!!

    G3JJZ
RIG - IC756 PRO III   100 Watts. ANTENNAS - 85' LW. Strange condx.   I could barely hear some of the usually strong stations but the GMs were strong most of the time.

    G3KKP
    Used SD - perfect!

    G3KLH
Signals held up here on the south coast until the last ten minutes

    G3LDI
Not as many key-clicks around in this one but still a few

    G3LET
Good until just before 1730 when everything except GM disappeared however still a few to work by ESP. I got the impression that activity was a little below par as finding a frequency was unusually easy.  Thanks to all for the QSOs.

    G3LHJ
Great contest - lots of activity- condxs good up till the last 20Min when band went long skip and noisy

    G3LIK
Some good conditions but inter G faded at the end. Lots of familiar calls in the log with some newer
amateurs to CW which was good to see

    G3MCX
Used SD for the first time copied from a paper log worked very well but unable to upload it for the contest so will have to type it all again !

    G3MXH
Good inter Uk condx at start. Managed to hold a good rate and was called by 5B4AGN.Then was swamped by non contest stations asking me to QSY as this was a DX frequency after using it for about an Hour! So it was S&P for a while..

    G3MZV
This is where everyone makes their excuses I don't have one.  A long list of G3's in log -
where are all the new callsigns?  Probably doing CB on VHF?  My first AFS for many many years
and it was thoroughly enjoyable.  I guess the long skip helped the GM's.

    G3NKS
Good fun as always except for last half-hour or so when most signals disappeared and the noise
level rose.  Only 5 QSOs in last 30 mins.

    G3OFA
    An enjoyable contest

    G3OLB
Drinking too much tea before a contest causes you to lose your run frequency!

    G3PHO
Enjoyable if frustrating contest. Did S&P for much of first hour then found a run freq but had to go S&P again as conditions for inter G faded after 1700.  An annoying bug in the computer cw software caused
a few probs so had to use el paddle lots of times. Found it difficult to fit in trips to the loo!!

    G3RFH
Quite busy to start withbut band went suddenly about 1735.

    G3RWL
Would support suggestions for earlier start/finish

    G3SEM
Problems with my logging computer Hanging. Hence the gaps in the serial Numbers. Its always something!!

    G3SJX
Enjoyable as always. Skip lengthened significantly in the last hour

    G3SVL
Have missed the last 3 or 4 years due to business trips abroad - great to be back in the fray.

    G3SWC
Great fun. Condx good to GM with big signals

    G3TBK
Great conditions except for the last 20 minutes when most signals disappeared completely
FT1000MP Tokyo Amp 400w to Dipole at 75 feet.

    G3TLI
Band collapsed at about 1725hrs. Still enjoyed the challenge using poor antenna

    G3TXF
AFS-CW always provides a great start to the contesting year. Apart from an inter-UK wipe-out during the last half hour conditions were fine. Great to bump into so many familiar UK callsigns on a Sunday afternoon!

    G3UFY
RIG - FT1000MP + Ranger 811H, Dipole up 30ft, Homebrew logging software. Still plagued by intermittent strong local noise though not as bad as in some years previously.  Great to work the M3s but where were the 2Es?

    G3VDB
Good going until the ionosphere disappeared about 17.35!

    G3VIP
RIG FT301S + PA 100W - 40M LW - Homebrew logger. Only able to operate for 2 hours. Good condx vry strong sigs

    G3VMY
I had to use the straight key all the time. Hard work.

    G3VPW
Always enjoy a good S & P session tried running but with  lengthening skip difficult to be sure of a clear  frequency. Made my 200 Qs objective.

    G3VQO
Not a serious effort - too many domestic interruptions. Nice to be able to give away a few points from a warm shack on a snowy afternoon!

    G3VYI
Good condx  till last 30 mins then no G skip at all from here. Few gremlins  for  a change !
Very strong G stations at times !

    G3WVG
    Good fun as ever.

    G3YEC
Unfortunately I lost my amateur radio friend on the morning of the contest which had an affect on my .
operating. Some MASSIVE signals in the contest !!

    G3YHV
Only able to work the last 2 hours  - conditions good until  about 1700 utc- colin

    G3YMC
As usual plenty of activity and conditions good apart from the last half hour when we lost inter-G propagation. A reasonable attempt for QRP from my modest station. First section of longwire still buried under several inches of snow on the roof.

    G3ZBU
Great conditions but it all went quiet at the end. High noise level though.

    G3ZGC/A
Running IC775DSP 200w to Dipole up 50 ft. At G3LLK's QTH thanks Gus.
Conditions faded at the end otherwise ok.

    G3ZHE
A good start but band faded badly during last 30 mins. 150 watts to 90ft doublet 30ft up

    G3ZRJ
Very good level of activity from the regulars and good to hear new ops taking part. Hard going in last 30 mins due band going out for g stations at any distance.

    G3ZVW
Skip seemed long right from the start and activity a bit down - maybe a few didn't want to venture into freezing cold shacks. The band died towards the end.

    G4ALE
Was unable to operate from my usual location (QTH of the late Harry G3SBV in Kent) due to the snow. So came on from home. Ran 10W to see what I could work with that and usual micro antenna - and only
failed to make it with one station that I called! All S&P of course. Conditions reasonable but fell apart badly in the last half hour!

    G4BUO
Conditions took a real dive in the last 30 minutes

    G4BYG
Mostly Run this time and managed to keep a frequency despite the 100watts output. Steady stream of qsos till about 1730 when skip lengthened and very little worked. Had to have an hours break due to health matters. So lost quite a lot of potential qsos. Never the less it was most enjoyable and good to hear so many good operators again.

    G4CZB
Only a very low dipole this year pneumatic mast frozen up!  Received a poor signal report which was traced to hum on the DC supply cured by moving a variac away from the psu.  Skip lengthened suddenly for me in the last 20 minutes.

    G4DBW
Elecraft K3 running QRO at 12 watts into a G5RV at 20 feet agl.

    G4DDX
The inclement weather made the contest most enjoyable. No walking or sailing to take my attention. Did more CQing this time which added to the fun.as I am getting better. Used SD for logging which made it very easy.

    G4DJX
Really ejoyed the contest as always

    G4DQP
K3 was brilliant but found myself being slower than I thought I should be.....must be getting old!! but very
very enjoyable; roll on next year.

    G4DYC
Enjoyable but heavy S9 timebase QRM in last hour approx.

    G4FKA
Similar rate to last year until 20 minutes from the end when the band crashed in the most spectacular fashion. Enjoyable and challenging as ever. IC756ProIII 100w 30m inverted V doublet at 10m.

    G4FSU
Many thanks - my first AFS contest. Good conditions until the last half hour when all the Gs disappeared in the space of about 5 minutes!

    G4HHJ
I must practice my CW before the contest - not during it!! Operation interrupted by family activities but great fun all the same.

    G4IUF
Slow start had to replace tap washer !!

    G4LDL
First go in this one as i am not a cw man.  Just did s & p for a couple of hours. 100w + low dipole.

    G4LMW
Had to take over 2 hours off in the middle for family business. Pity. Was having fun.

    G4NWJ
Band conditions OK poor practise using ultra high speed auto number senders

    G4OGB
After a slow start I was surprised to finish with a few more qso's.

    G4OSB
Nice to put my radio into operation. I went up and down the band enjoying myself.

    G4PDQ
Conditions took a big dive in the last half hour!

    G4PIQ
First contest from new QTH with low temporary antenna. Good fun though
    K2/100 + PA. 400W Inv-V top @ 10m

    G4RCD
Trio TS-930S at 100W into 132 foot doublet (with open wire feeder) at 40 feet max.  Great fun. seemed to
be less chaotic and crowded than previous years may be due to new QTH in North Yorkshire or new rig!
Very poor last hour when inter-G propogation disappeared.

    G4RLS
good conditions experienced here with low noise level for the first couple of hours then very noisey at the
top end of the band lots of activity and what seems to be a personal best for me not up amongst the big boys but a fun afternoons contesting

    G4TSH
Operating from QTH of G0VDZ in Shepperton.  Was not taking this one seriously Had problems with ice damage to pump up mast still managed to get dipole up at a reasonable height.  Interesting conditions and some good DX worked. Wonder if I would have done better or worse if I was being serious?

    G4YTV
Continentals in short supply from E. Yorks. Band collapsed after 1715hr. SD did it's stuff!

    G7PVZ
Sporadic operation due to family commitments. Tried with 5 watts this time may stick to that!
    Thanks to everyone I worked!

    G7VJR
    300W to dipole at 40ft

    G8MIA
Band conditions were very good today.

    GM0ELP
Elecraft K3 Acom 1000 80M doublet at 10M Great fun best dx Greenland! Went awfully quiet at 17

    GM3JKS
Harsh wintery wx prevented any attempt to change ant system for the contest

    GM3POI
Please drop the 50mile limit within Northern GM so we can produce a team

    GM3SEK
Thanks to everyone for the QSOs - it's great to meet old friends again. Skip seemed to lengthen quite early this year and G stations became quite weak so a special thankyou to all the regular 'Friends of AFS' outside the UK.

    GM3VEY
Propagation was very odd. At times nearby stations were almost inaudible.

    GM3WIJ
SD Winkeyer worked well. TS850 showing its age. Operator also showing age being deaf due to flu!!!

    GM3WOJ
Too snowy and cold to put up my special AFS antenna so results not so good but good fun overall

    GM3WUX
This is my first contest with the K3 and N1MM software. I'm really looking forward to the next one.

    GM3YEH
Used old faithfull IC752A and a dipole at 25 feet. Good level of activity and QSO rate until the skip went long during the last hour.

    GM4OBD
For the first time had SD and Winkey working in harmony. Only used the paddle twice. Changes for next time are a narrower filter and a better chair!!

    GM4OSS
Contest a hard slog but SD worked flawlessly.

    GM4SID
More activity than recent years but was a lot of it europe?.  Anyway my best score for many years and
I enjoyed it very much helped bu the faultless SD contest logging program.

    GM4ZUK
First two hours went well (up on previous years) but 2nd two hours well down. Conditions?
First AFS outing of K3 - worked well.

    GW0ETF
Conditions very good for first hour and then became distinctly mediocre. Last half hour was dire with just 9 QSOs..K3 and Acom 1000 to a low 30m long doublet. The amplifier helped keep the shack warm!

    LY9A
    FT-1000MP Dipole

    M0AAA
Great fun. My best score so far for this contest.

    M0CAA/A
    Hard going with 5w.

    M0CES
    Busy band

    M0CZR
    Good Contest

    M0PTO
    50W into a low dipole.

    M0SAR
1st contest with this rig. Good fun. QSB last 30 mins.

    M0XIE
Good fun. Lots of QRN towards the end

    M3OSP
Would be better if i could get the hang of SD. Thought it was quieter than previous afs contests

    MM0ROV
Conditions and QSO total slightly better than last year. Used SD logging which performed perfectly.

    MU0FAL
just there to make up the numbers nice to work some M3s

    MW0RZC
    nice contest

    PA600MIR
Wanted to hand out the special call for 600 years cityrights in the City of Purmerend. Most stations got it right I think only a few hesitated hearing the MIR suffix which by now is familiar to most UK stations from participation in the club contests. Happy newyear to all and special QSL's will be available from september info see www.qrz.com/pa600mir
