    Summary:

Entries were at a record level for recent years at 55 overall, 22 in the Open Section and 33 in the Restricted. WX was excellent in most
parts of the country although band conditions were typical of a sunspot minimum a few openings on 15m and virtually none on 10m.

In the Open Section competition was close between the top three teams. Multipliers proved to be the key, as Cray Valley RS, G3RCV/P, took first place from Bristol CG, G6YB/P. Their QSO total was lower, this was made up by scoring 16 more multipliers. East Notts CG, G3TBK/P, was in third place.

The winner of the Restricted Section by a convincing margin was Adrian MW1LCR/P operating as a single-op with no club affiliation. In
spite of some painful dental work just before the contest he managed to operate for most of the 24 hours. Second place was taken by
Worthing & District ARC, G3WOR/P. And in third place was the Central Contest Association, G3SJJ/P.

Some groups reported difficulty with stations in the All Asia contest refusing to work them. A few groups co-located their 2m Trophy
station and entered both contests. Overall most reported having an enjoyable weekend with plenty taking advantage of the good weather for socialising.

    G0KDV/P
All Asia Contest a bit off putting

    G2AS/P
Sheffield ARC had two stations this year - this Open Section entry being from Theddlethorpe in Lincolnshire. Radio was FT2000 with Quadra to A3S at 60 feet plus 40m and 80m dipoles. Band conditions were checked on a second receive-only radio.

    G2XV/P
Some (mostly) European stations were inconsistent in signing /P or otherwise - several we logged on one band with /P then another band they called without. Sometimes we confirmed and they corrected as appropriate but I'm sure others slipped through.

    G3CRS/P
    Thanks for the enjoyable contest

    G3JRM/P
Wx great score respectable all in all a good weekend in the countryside.

    G3MXH
    Trying out SDR for contesting.

    G3RCM/P
SARC entered two teams this year: A team G2AS/P (open section) and B team G3RCM/P (Restricted section). At G3RCM/P we concentrated on giving a contest experience to some of our newer licensees and making the weekend a real social event. We had a few antenna difficulties that prevent our working 15 and 10 metres. The weather was excellent and we think our relatively inexperienced team did a great job. See you all next year!

    G3RCV/P
Great fun as always but with G6YB/P back in the section we don't think our best-ever QSO total of 1692 will be enough to retain the trophy. In addition to the operators another 15 club members were on site at some point during the event including a casual entry in the 2m Trophy. Good HF sites are not always good VHF sites as well!

    G3SJJ/P
An excellent weekend. Wx on Friday and Saturday was perfect Sunday was cooler but still good. 20m on Saturday was disappointing but a great opening on 15m during Sunday. FT1kMP 176ft doublet at 50ft with links at 84ft and 42ft.

    G3TBK/P
FT1000MP + 400W Amp. TH7 at 60 feet 80 & 40m dipoles at 70 ft 40m dipole at 33ft 40m Bobtail. Better condx on 20 & 15 than last few years pity about 10m though! Multipliers way down on 80m. Still a lot of self-spotting by three stations (or at least spotting by members of the group). Only had intermittent Cluster for a short time then failed altogether.

    G3TCR/P
Lovely weather this year, rather flat propagation on 20m on Sunday.  How fantastic to work VK.. pity distance isn't in the score! Anyone know how best to persuade All Asia participants to give points to Field Day participants?

    G3TXF
This year SSB-FD was just a couple of hours tuning up and down 80m at night from the home QTH!

    G3UES/P
A relaxed traditional club effort with plenty of helpers many visitors and a Saturday evening BBQ. The IC756ProIII had in the end the benefit of a Gravesend loop hoisted to the mast the club has used since radio was invented but no one could remember how to assemble and erect. The loop radiated marginally better than our dummy load but the SWR was slightly worse. It was all great fun.

    G3ULT/P
Great activity and nice to see 15m open. We were lucky with the WX dry for set-up and tear-down.
No major technical problems. An enjoyable weekend.

    G3VRE/P
This is our first entry to HF SSB Field Day and 1st use of N1MM Logger. An enjoyable contest and lessons learnt. Station details Transceiver: Yaesu FT990 100 watts; inverted dipole with apex at 10 metres; 110m ASL in IO81XL. Ian Carter G0GRI on behalf of Chippenham DARC.

    G3WIR/P
Getting the StepIR up on the mast was a real trial. One member was taken to hospital with a broken head. This delayed our start found it hard going as usual but reasonable weather. Band conditions poor on upper bands, quiet on low bands

    G4BP/P
Super 10m opening on Saturday afternoon, but only to Denmark. Aerial erected dusk. Friday evening perhaps explaining why wire wrapped around mast. All had to be redone Saturday morning. Superb weather for FD.

    G4DPF/P
    Great Contest.WX.

    G4HRC/P
enjoyable weekend playing radio in the sun

    G4MWS/P
A fine club outing with a little radio thrown in.

    G4SJM/P
Excellent day (my first contest). Medieval tent as operating base.

    G4WAC/P
Too many hornets not enough red bull

    G4YRC/P
Great weekend enjoyed by all who attended. All food cooked oven an open fire again. Looking forward to next year.

    G5FZ/P
Great fun to be had by all who took part in this years field day. Conditions: FT-1000MRK V, a 400W PA, a Tri-band Yagi & Inverted V

    G5GX/P
Nice fine week-end - Enjoyed the contest - Found 10/15m weak - Used Super Duper - We think there is a case for this field day to move away from the same date as the All Asia contest. Stations in our own back-yard are more interested in the far east DX.

    G6CSY
Glad to give away a few points on 40m during RSGB Field Day. Would have given away more points but distracted by the DX available with QRP in the RSGB 144MHz Trophy contest !!

    G6GRG/P
All Asia contest - little chance of dx.

    G6IPU/P
New site for us this year more space 0830 sat morning set up 3 towers 1 80ft 1 40ft 1 60ft delta loop and dipole from 80ft beam on 40ft tower dipoles strung from tall tower sloping to NNE side of loop to NNW
SD for logging. Band conditions better this year

    G6YB/P
After some recent good results in the Restricted section the Bristol Contest Group  decided to go back to the Open section this year but with a few experimental aspects. We were technically challenged to say the least and were still building the station up to 90 minutes after the start! Weather mostly dry but windy; however heavy rain came to visit for a few hours on Sunday and around 30 minutes were wiped out by static rain.
The team got on with it as ever and we survived to tell the tale! Usual excellent results on 20m and some good DX on 40 as well. 10m was a washout with only a few QSOs.

    G7DPE
    80 M antenna failed 2 QSO's in to operating on the 80 M band.

    G8FC/P
We significantly improved our number of contacts this year by having more runs and less searching and pouncing. We can claim 2 separate fly pasts by the Red Arrows can any other Field Day station beat that?

    G8PX/P
K3 and Quadra. Force 12 C3 at 70 feet with dipoles for 80 and 40.

    G8SRC/P
We used a steppir vertical from a new site. Was fun but difficult at times.

    GM4AGG/P
Operated using FT-920 and delta loop antenna using diesel generator. Location IO75tw (N55:56:22 W4:23:25) Good operating this year great to get club call back in this contest!

    GM5CX/P
First serious attempt at this contest since 2001. Station somewhat compromised with main tribander only at 30 feet agl and no beam for 40m meant we lost ground to the big guns by nightfall. A few lessons learned and we hope to return next year.

    GW4TTA/P
Set up in the morn using Elecraft K3 and a dipole in our aged caravan that even the  chickens have rejected!! The generator broke down but we had a spare and a good time was had by all who turned up NOT!! So where do all those that we put thru the RAE go to?
Well not here obviously! The station was pulled down and put up by myself who is getting  cardiac surgery in three days and our treasurer John who by his own admission is well past his sell by date!! Thanks to all who contacted us and rant over for
    this year!!
    Diolch yn fawr o Gymru!!!

    M0AAA/P
    Great Fun

    M0REG/P
Band conditions excellent we even made some contacts on 10m. Very few French stations around.

    M0TTE/P
Just a few hours im the rain on Sunday.

    M5ARC/P
Elecraft k3 250' vee beam 15m centre 2m ends 4:1 balun sgc230 mast mounted 8 direction for beam inverted vee dipole overnight.
Very slow start bands seemed ok before contest started but 20m hard work 40m not much better 80m overnight was singing odd
contact on 10m 15m had some good multi's overall disappointed with low rates struggling to understand where we are going wrong.
    Any pointers would be helpful!

    MM0AOQ/P
Beautiful weather most of the weekend although windy on the Sunday . Nice to see an opening on 10M this year, 80M somewhat disappointing though hope for better next year . All in all a very enjoyable weekend again

    MW1LCR/P
This year's RSGB SSB Field Day entry was hit by minor operational issues early on in the contest, although an upturn in propagation, particularly on Saturday, helped compensate.
Planning and preparation for the contest had commenced two months earlier in July and had gone well.
An improved aerial, feeder and tuning system, together with a now reliable VHF radio link to the cluster network, improved logging, cluster & spot reporting system as well as general improvements to the MW1LCR portable station. This left me quite content to think all was well for this year's entry.
What I hadn't accounted for was a dental incident a few days earlier resulting in a pronounced lisp, slight tooth ache and four missing front teeth. Murphy, or rather a product of Cadbury's, had struck on the Wednesday prior to the contest, when in n an after lunch snack, I bit into a very cold, chocolate bar. At which point a decided crunch was heard and a 20 plus year old dental bridge disintegrated, leaving a wide gap in my front teeth, and a pronounced lisp.
The earliest dental appointment I could muster was Friday afternoon (the Friday before the contest) at 3:30pm. Right in the middle of my station build time. Minor dental work that afternoon, left me with some discomfort, and a further pronounced lisp. With the XYL's assistance, I checked my speech, and discovered that the number's 3, 6 and 0 would cause the most difficulty during the contest.
An early start on Saturday morning, and I proceeded hurriedly with the station build. Owing to the dental visit the previous day, I hadn't had much time to prepare the station on Friday.
Nevertheless, I followed the old Royal Signals adage of "Cam, Comms, and Comfort". No Cam for me, so straight to Comms. Comfort went out the window as well!
The logging software, and homebrew cluster monitoring tools all worked well, and an early afternoon opening on 28MHz kicked off the contest for MW1LCR/P, at 3 minutes past 13
