3^rd 144MHz Backpackers Contest of 2007

23 stations submitted an entry for this session of the 144 MHz Backpackers contest, one more than in 2006. This contest is run on the Sunday of VHF NFD which ensured a high level of activity. However, several of the Backpackers found the level of QRM difficult to operate through.

Full marks for perseverance goes to Richard G3CWI/P. Static destroyed his rig's front end 2 minutes before the contest started. He commented that he worked all he could hear!

In the 10W Multi-operator section G0HIK/P was the winner with the Wigan-Douglas Valley ARS (G3BPK/P) in second place.

The 3W Multi-operator section was won by the Oldham Radio Club (G1ORC/P).

The 10W Single Operator section was won by Paul Selwood G8BGV/P with Rhys Thomas GW4RWR/P in second place.

The 3W Single Operator section was won by Tim Raven G4ARI/P, with Tony Jay G8JAY/P as the runner-up.
