144MHz Low Power 2007

Despite lower activity than last year, a tropo opening to Spain & Southern France provided many entrants with distances in excess of 900km. Band conditions improved throughout the contest but unfortunately didn't peak for a few until after the contest. Overall there was a good standard of logging; seven were completely error free, seven with just one error & five with two errors. A total of 333 different callsigns were logged during the contest.

Congratulations go to the A1 Contest group G4ZAP/P as clear winners of the Open section & to the Moors Contest Group M0MCG/P for taking second place.

Bob Harrison G8HGN as winner of the Single Operator Fixed section closely followed by Roger piper G3MEH in second place.

Bob Reeves G8VOI/P as winner of the Single Operator Others section & Paul Selwood G8BGV/P in second place.

Certificates also go to Bob Treacher M3RCV as leading foundation licensee & to Frank Laanen PE1EWR as leading overseas station.

Richard Cooper G4WFR.
