    CHAIRMAN'S CORNER (by Ian G0FCT)

The RSGB HF & VHF Contest Calendars for 2015 are now available here (HF) and here (VHF). The rules for nearly all the individual contests are available via links from their respective Calendars. In a small number of cases the rules are not available at the time of writing. These will be updated over the next few weeks, together with some of the FAQs and "Dos & Don'ts".

The 'White Paper' consultation conducted between May and August this year has proved to be very useful in gathering the view of contesters. A similar consultation is planned for 2015.

The Special Contest Calls CC page has been updated recently and now lists all currently issued SCCs.

INTRODUCTION OF M7 MULTIPLIER SCHEME (by Quin G3WRR)

Entrants to the UKACs may wish to note that the new M7 scoring regime (to be introduced for the 2015 UKACs) is, at the time of writing, only supported by the CC's own on line logger. However Minos will follow in early December, and other loggers are expected to do likewise in due course. In the meantime, entrants can be reassured that multipliers gained and overall claimed scores will be calculated by the CC robot at upload time. All logs are rescored during adjudication, and the claimed score in the log is ignored by the adjudication software. Therefore so as long as the logging programme produces a file in an acceptable format with all of the required QSO data, it does not matter if an incorrect claimed score is included in the submitted log.

    AND FINALLY

Well, that's another year nearly done and dusted. Hopefully it was a good one for you - on contesting and all other fronts. The Contest Committee would like to take this opportunity to wish you and yours an enjoyable Christmas and an excellent 2015.

That's all for this month - good contesting to you all!

    73, Quin G3WRR
