Station Sharing in VHF Contests (Andy G4PIQ - vhfcc.chair@rsgbcc.org)
We have observed that some clubs have multiple operators using their own call signs to operate a single station. We understand that this can be a very useful training exercise allowing the trainee to not only operate a well-equipped station but to submit their own log and receive their own UBN report and thus learn from their mistakes.

However in some cases a single station has had a large numbers of operators using their own call signs, with their combined scores exceeding 1000 points. The VHFCC considers this to be outside the spirit of the rules. So for the remainder of 2019 we would like to warn clubs not to have more than three call signs using a single station. If clubs do not follow this suggestion, we will immediately introduce a new rule to keep the competition fair.

If a station is shared by multiple callsigns, this must be declared in the Soapbox (comments) area of the logs.

RSGB MGM Activity Contests (MGMAC) (Andy G4PIQ - vhfcc.chair@rsgbcc.org)
After a recent VHFCC committee meeting and with time to digest the first months operating in the MGMAC’s on both 2 and 6m it was proposed to create a “How To” document on the RSGB CC website that would try to condense experiences and iron out any issues.

The "How to" document addresses the initial confusion in the scoring and the actual requirements of the contest where the waters were muddied by the introducing of the completed WSJT-X Ver 2 software package.

With something new like this, time is needed to create a forward plan and development of these exciting modes which hitherto haven’t been the focus of VHF Contesting.

The document gives an insight into the software available and how to deal with the logging and uploading issues that some had during the first contests.

As time goes by no doubt proficiency and efficiency will improve so any feedback to the VHF CC would be much appreciate on the email address  vhf.query@rsgbcc.org

Request for Sponsor (by Jacqui G6XSY - trophy.manager@rsgb.org.uk)
We are looking for someone, or a club, to sponsor the IOTA Contest Manager Award for IOTA 2018 (to be presented at the 2019 Convention) and onwards. This award is for the leading Low Power Multi-op DXpedition Station. Currently the award takes the form of a medal, which is engraved with the winner’s details.

The medal is available to be presented at the RSGB Convention, if the winner wishes, otherwise the medal is sent to them. If you feel you would like to contribute towards the success of the IOTA Contest by sponsoring this trophy, please contact Jacqui G6XSY, RSGB Trophy Manager. trophy.manager@rsgb.org.uk

Trophy Management Rally Attendance (by Jacqui G6XSY - trophy.manager@rsgb.org.uk)
I have arranged to attend the Harwell Rally on 10th Feb, so that anyone who wants to return their trophy early and is attending the rally, can do so.

This is "experimental" to see if this a viable way of getting trophies back to the RSGB in good time. Depending on how this first rally goes I'll look at attending other rallies, in particular Newbury Rally.
